Colorado/Utah

Some good news, some bad news.

Good news:
My brother and my sister in law Rachel welcomed their 4th child at the end of August.  Hope Lela, an absolutely precious baby girl, who looks just like her brother and sisters.

Sweet little Hope Lela

The Bad news:
We found out the same day that my dad had a brain tumor the size of a walnut.  The suggested treatment was to take it out.  The Dr. was 90/10 percent sure we would get my dad back.  Meaning he would start remembering, talking, and acting how he was before the tumor got so big.  The reality- it didn't happen.  My dad has never regained his former self, and we were left with his shell.  He will on occasion make a face, nod his head yes or no, but I will never be able to have a two way conversation with him again.  Completely devastating.
He does seem to know who everyone is, and seems to enjoy company for the most part.  He's currently at a care center in Vernal Utah.

Emerson kept asking him, won't you talk to me?

Emerson's 3rd Birthday

I am determined to get caught up on this blog!  So what if I'm blogging August in December between holiday batches of cookies.
Emerson was a lucky little girl this year and got two 3rd birthday parties.  One in Huntsville and one in Sioux Falls.
Huntsville's was at our old pool, thankfully Aunt Lora reserved some space for us to have our little shin dig.  We invited all our Huntsville friends and had a great time at the pool, so what if it rained cats and dogs the last 10 minutes.
