Our Omaha Adventure

Monday the day after Emerson's baptism, we drove down to Omaha (it's where we flew in and out of) to visit the zoo on Tuesday.  Monday night after we arrived we took a stroll downtown and walked across the pedestrian bridge that connects Nebraska and Iowa.  The bridge itself is very cool, and it was a nice little activity to get us out of the hotel for a little while.

Some of the Omaha skyline

On the bridge, you could feel it sway in the wind

We are on the Iowa side looking at Nebraska

We had to take a short break so that a little someone could eat!

This has to be one of my all time favorite photos of her!

This is at the zoo in the Jungle

Can you tell someone's a little tired, she was on screensaver

I think we were looking at seahorses

Into the night is what they call this one, with all the bats and creatures that come out in the dark

The sea otter was making her laugh, it would swim up to the window and push off

Emers and I fed the birds budgie sticks

I took her on the carousel, Brad would have gotten sick on this ride

The Zebra that Emers rode, and right after this picture we headed out because it was raining like crazy.

The Get Together

Emerson's Grandma and Grandpa Wood were gracious enough to open up their home and host a luncheon after the baptism, so many people made it by and here are a few photos.

Emerson's Baptism

We made the trek up to Iowa to have Emerson baptized at her Grandma Wood's and Great Grandma Tuttle's church.  The baptism was really nice and it was great to be able to see so many family members who came in support.

She doesn't look too sure about this!

Getting baptized, she's not too sure about all that water on her head

What a sweet happy baby!

Emerson and her Godparents Mike and Sally and yes she is missing a shoe

Meet Victoria

I've had so many people ask if we finally found a babysitter for Emerson, and yes we have.  Meet Victoria Gautney, she's from Texas and is a recent grad from Alabama with a degree in Psychology  and currently working on her political science degree, she's hoping to get into Law school in the near future.  She will be splitting her time between us and the Children's Advocacy Center where she is interning this summer.  Victoria and her husband live in Madison, he is employed by CAS, he's an Alabama native from Rogersville.  So glad we found you Victoria!!

The Girls

We had Maddy and Murphy over the other day, went to lunch and did some shopping for their birthday!  We had a really fun time, ate at Red Robin then shopped and got some fun stuff!  Emerson loves hanging out with her cousins!

Grandpa and Grandma Lorimor visit

The Lorimor's came for a visit, Dick and Nancy have been really good friends and supporters of mine for the last 11 years.  They have helped me in more ways than I can say, and have been a huge blessing in my life.  Dick and Nancy are thrilled to be Emerson's honorary grandparents, and really couldn't get enough of the cute little love bug!

Emerson playing with Dick's watch, it's shiny and belongs to someone else... she loves it!

How sweet

What a good day!
